I’m honestly astonished Scott Adams wasn’t cancelled before, he’s been a right wing troll for years and Dilbert was only kind of funny back when it was a parody of the kind of 1990s white collar job that Office Space skewered. The two things I do find irritating about the Dilbert situation: (1) it gave every paper in the country a chance to run a pompous “it’s not cancel culture, it’s accountability culture” editorial (2) there is totally a strain of neo-segregationist thought on the left too that everyone except me has forgotten: does anyone else remember that “I don’t let my kids be friends with white people” op-ed that was in (I think) the New York Times?
Andy Capp! To this day I use a Flo phrase to my wife when she thinks we're running late: "Relax, we've got BAGS of time." We had the PC debate about Andy early on in the internet age and Andy, as I recall, won in a rout.
Oh man. Banger of a first episode. This is going to be such a fun show.
