I really, really can't wait until I'm 85 and can read the books written about this time. How will historians explain tens of millions of people deciding to support this guy with more enthusiasm than most people show for their own spouses or children?

At least the watches will make an excellent exhibit in some future Museum of American Collapse.

Thank you! This needed to be written. I hope it goes viral. I think the attraction to Trump is this ability to do whatever he wants and get away with it. People see this invincibility and attach their own wants and desires to him. I firmly believe that one day the Wizard will be exposed for the fraud he truly is. That is, to those that somehow don’t already see it. Ultimately, you have to deliver. Somehow, he framed his 2020 defeat as a victory to the clowns that support him. Once bitten, twice shy. If he loses again, the curtain finally gets pulled open.

If it weren’t for the vagaries of the Electoral College, we’d have forgotten about this clown in 2016. So, come on, you 40,000 voters spread across five or six states, save us once more.

The good news, though, is that Kamala Harris so fried his brain in the debate such that he can’t stop saying ever more insane things, or grifting extra hard out of fear that after November 5 no one will give a damn about his shitty watches, shoes, NFTs, jacket swatches, or whatever the hell else he’s hawking to pay his legal bills.

The number of shady deals by politicos using their offices to make money for themselves is so long it doesn't do any good to recount it. Why do people not care about this? Because it gets them nothing and no where. I think most Republican voters would love to support a truly bipartisan purge of all of these dirty dealing hacks, if they had any faith hat the other side would play fair. Nancy Pelosi has done so much of this inside stock manipulation, Bidens family crimes are legendary. You want Trump/McConnell/whomever else your assumed bete noir is, then you have to trade away the rightehousness and allow some people on the Left to go down. There is zero percent chance either side will suffer a one sided defeat here. They either all go to jail at once, or no one goes anywehre.

How about the mayor of NYC, for starters?

“they get notoriety that they wouldn’t get unless they were the victim of a serial killer or showed enough gumption to become one.”

Become victim or the killer? Asking for a friend.

You're right, that sentence sucked. I changed it.

I’m currently reading The Republican For Which It Stands, the Oxford History of the US entry devoted to Reconstruction and the Gilded Age. As I’m reading about the open “friendships” that legislators had with monopolies and not even batting an eye. I’m sure I’ll have the same reaction when the Progressive Era portion of the series is released and also when the entry devoted to this current time comes out in 2055

I mean watching the husband of the speaker of the house make magically good stock predictions year after year didn’t upset anyone, nor does it bother people to watch the govt fork out billions and billions in grift, waste and to foreigners.

So no, no I don’t care about his shitty money laundering watches. And neither would you, if it was the dem running against him

And let’s not forget J. D. Vance appearing on Saturday Night Live. I mean, his George Washington bit is really funny, but you know he’s just cashing in on the campaign. (And everybody sees right through that cheesy stage name he’s using, right? We all know it’s him.)

Trump is literally the only politician to exit office with less money than he went in with. Even socialist like AOC end up getting rich.
