I wasn't as enthused about Acosta as the heads on FS1 were, but i think you captured it completely with your rating and explanation. As these games become more important, I think he's going to reach his limit of effectiveness. Llegett may have already reached his. I'm worried going into the semi finals with a dependency on Acosta, Llegett, Roldan and the strikers we have available.

Also, who thought Blake would make a game deciding error before Turner? Although I wouldn't "blame" Blake on the goal, the fact is he came for it and missed completely. And I think Blake is class.

I think Acosta, Lletget, and Roldan are all fill-in guys. You need fill-in guys, which I'll define as a guy you can plug into a lineup who still gives you a good chance to win. Most WC starting elevens have one or two fill-in guys. This tournament is mostly an opportunity what kind of depth we have, and a few guys (Busio, Dike, Sands) might push for starting roles on a full-strength squad in the future, but Acosta, Lletget, and Roldan probably aren't those guys.

Sobering thought - The US is 0-1 against Qatar in World Cup bidding.

Hopefully this match will involve less completely-obvious corruption than that process did.
