The homelessness debate is on the money and a major flaw on the left right now.
For example, any slight acknowledgement that it’s not a good thing we allow the homeless to encamp at baggage claim at an international airport receives a barrage of “You are bad because you do not support letting the homeless wash their balls in the arrival bathrooms. I am good because I know it is *society’s fault*.”
And unfortunately the manic pixie mom is not that extreme an archetype. We’ve found it more challenging as kids get older and how many kids lack awareness of basic social norms. Play dates involving some 5 year old menace arriving into my house commanding “Give me juice!” are more common than I’d like.
