BS flag on the argument against raising the minimum wage. Corporate profits, executive interests, and shareholder returns all have a place in any argument regarding minimum wage. Unless they are mentally impaired, lower tier employees of all the major manufacturing, logistics and retail corporations (to name only a few) perform work under some of the most inhumane conditions that would drive anyone insane. As far as unemployment is concerned, what's the point of being employed if the income from your terrible job does not afford a bare minimum existence?

This reminds me of a Lewis Black that’s been ringing in my head ever since I head it, “Some people say that now is the worst time to be a child, and that’s bullshit. EVERY time is the worst time to be a child because ADULTS never know SHIT.”

Sure. Those forces fighting tooth and nail against minimum wage increases aren’t looking to minimize input costs in order to maximize profits. They’re sitting back stroking their beards and pondering macroeconomics.
