Jeff, I don't know if you are familiar with Billy Hughes, the Australian Prime Minister at the Versailles Peace Conference after WW I, but knowing how he treated the Japanese at the conference, especially in regards to the Japanese wanting to include a racial equity component to the final treaty, will provide some more insight to Western (White) attitudes towards people who represented the 'yellow peril' in America.
