Hollywood loves The Bear! And why shouldn’t they? This rib-tickling romp through the wacky world of Chicago cuisine has been on the menu for giggle gourmands everywhere! When it won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series this week, my response — like that of so many other chuckle connoisseurs — was a resounding “magnifique!”
Below are my top five hilarious moments from this zany cavalcade o’ chortles. It was hard to get this list down to five! I’ve honestly lost count of how my times I’ve snorted my soup through my schnozz laughing at the antics of the bizarre brigade at The Beef. Nonetheless — order up! — here are my top five.
5. When Carmy reveals that his brother committed suicide
The belly larfs begin in the very first episode! We know from the start that Carmy’s brother recently died — that’s what we in the business call “creating a comedic scenario”. Once the pump is primed, Carmy socks us with the punchline: His brother didn’t just die — he killed himself! Via a gunshot to the head! Cue the old-timey car horn sound effect!
