Announcing the "Wrongthink" Podcast! Featuring Me and a Far-Better-Known Dude!
More content, same non-existant price!
I’ve been looking for ways to provide more content to I Might Be Wrong. Of course, between my day job, other creative projects, caring for my son, video games, drinking, and a gambling problem that’s growing at a frightening rate, it’s hard to find time.
But good news! I’m excited to announce the Wrongthink podcast featuring me and Thomas Chatterton Williams! Or actually, I should say: Featuring Thomas Chatterton Williams and me, because that is both grammatically correct and gives the far-better-known person top billing.
The first episode is here, and also on Spotify, YouTube, and other places where podcasts roam.
As many of you know, Thomas Chatterton Williams is a writer who has appeared in fancy-pants publications favored by the pointy-headest of dweebs, including Harpers, The Atlantic, and the New York Times magazine. He also wrote a book called Self-Portrait in Black and White: Unlearning Race that you can buy on Amazon, thus sticking it the smug Mom & Pop book store in your area. He might be best known for organizing the much-ballyhoo’d “Harper’s Letter”, which basically said “freedom to speak your mind without fear is good”. Incredibly, that became controversial in modern-day America.
Each Friday (or thereabouts), Thomas and I will run down the news of the week. He will offer insight, and I will annoy him with jokes. Hopefully, you’ll find it fun and engaging, and if nothing else: It will be new content, not just me reading a bunch of crap that you’ve already read.
All of this will still be part of a free subscription, you cheap bastards. Though, for the first time, there will be a difference between a “paid” and an “unpaid” subscription: Paid subscribers will receive the ad-free version of the podcast (when the podcast has ads, which is doesn’t just yet). That seems fair. And yes: This gives me an incentive to make the ads as annoying as possible in order to drive you towards a paid subscription.
I’ll still be writing columns about once a week, as usual, and they’ll still be free. I hope you enjoy the new podcast, and thank you for subscribing to I Might Be Wrong!
I still don't know who you are or when or why I started subscribing (Substack bug?), but I enjoy your posts and am a big TCW fan so I'm looking forward to this podcast! If the ads are annoying enough I might even pay. I recommend reaching out to the Kars4kids people.
I'm not a depressed liberal teenage girl, but I am sad that this is a podcast without a transcription. For various reasons podcasts don't work for me. Apparently there will soon be amazing AI-based voice-to-text program, so maybe look out for that? Thanks!
